Lindsay Lohan Says She Was Sober Before 2005 Crash

Lindsay Lohan says she was sober before a 2005 car crash near Beverly Hills.

The 21-year-old actress is being sued for negligence over the accident in which her Mercedes-Benz hit a van and injured the driver, Raymundo Ortega.

Ortega, a busboy, alleges Lohan had been drinking at The Ivy restaurant before the crash even though she was underage at the time. Ortega is seeking at least $200,000 in damages from Lohan and the restaurant.

But in a Dec. 15 declaration, Lohan stated: “I did not consume an alcoholic beverage or any type of medication or drug” either before or during her restaurant visit.

A call to Lohan attorney David J. Ozeran wasn’t immediately returned Wednesday.Lohan’s declaration was filed Friday in Superior Court by attorneys for The Ivy along with other documents, including a declaration by the waiter who served Lohan. The server, Adam Novicki, said Lohan didn’t order alcohol.

Alonzo Howell, a Los Angeles police officer who was providing security for The Ivy that day, also said he didn’t see Lohan drinking.

Lohan has countersued Ortega, citing a California Highway Patrol report that said he was at fault for the crash because he made an illegal U-turn.

Lohan served 84 minutes in jail last month after pleading guilty to misdemeanor drunken driving and cocaine charges unrelated to the 2005 crash.

Britney Spears' next custody hearing postponed

The custody fight between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline will go another round next year.

A court commissioner made no changes to the couple's current custody arrangements Tuesday after a 90-minute hearing behind closed doors. He postponed a scheduled January hearing to February.

Neither Federline nor Spears were in court Tuesday while their attorneys argued the case.

Spears and Federline have been wrangling for months over custody of their sons, 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James.

Federline has temporary custody.

Christmas party season leaves Lindsay Lohan in a spot of bother

It's been a tumultuous year for Lindsay, which most recently included an 84 minute stint in jail as part of her plea deal in her two drink driving cases.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old is once again an eligible bachelorette after splitting from snowboarder Riley Giles, whom she met while at Utah's Cirque Lodge rehab centre in August.

The rankings, released by YouTube on Thursday, took into account the most shared, most discussed, top rated and general popularity of clips to determine which ones people were thinking and talking about most.

Among the year's favourites were the Obama Girl video, created by Barely Political, featuring an attractive young singer professing her love for Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama. It has been viewed more than 4 million times and many more times on television after being featured on news and talk shows.

While it was clear Barely Political was producing political satire in the name of entertainment, Internet surfers might initially have been less certain what Chris Crocker was trying to do in his "Leave Britney Alone" clip in September.

The clip is a close-up of Crocker breaking down in tears as he berates the media and paparazzi for hounding pop singer Spears as she lurched from one tabloid scandal to another.

YouTube said the melodramatic two-minute clip made Crocker an instant YouTube star, has been watched more than 14 million times and is the fourth most-commented-on video in YouTube's history.

In terms of sheer viewer numbers it was an unlikely combination of amateur production values, patience and timing that made an eight-minute video titled "Battle at Kruger" so compelling it has been watched more than 21 million times on YouTube.

Lohan's ex-boyfriend to sell intimate photos

Lindsay Lohan's ex-boyfriend Riley Giles, who she met in rehab, is reported to be selling intimate pictures of the troubled actress.

This is sure to anger Lohan and she is not going to make any money off this deal, perezhilton.com reports. Giles has made deals with a photo agency to license the photos to be given to tabloid magazines and other media outlets.

Lohan is likely to sue any outlet which chooses to print the pictures and Giles will find it difficult to see them. Giles also recently spoke to a British tabloid in a tell-all interview.

In "Hottie," set for a Feb. 8 release, Paris plays a comely chick named Christabel, who is attached at the hip to her fugly friend June (Christine Lakin). Things get complicated when Christabel's longtime admirer Nate (Joel David Moore) tries to make her his main squeeze. The movie's poster is a major crack-up. The "Nottie" looks so buck-toothed, dirty and deformed that Paris actually looks relatively hot next to her. I smell a Razzie!

Actress Lindsay Lohan has denied claims she has been hired as a representative of Ariva lozenges.

Britney Spears to star in new movie

Pop star Britney Spears is in talks to star in a movie called "Memoirs of a Medicated Child".

Spears is expected to seek inspiration from her own life where she has had to appear in court to fight custody battles.

The film is a true story based on Mark Black who was wrongfully dosed and then imprisoned. Spears will star opposite Ross Tyler who plays the lead role.

The role is of a loyal girlfriend of a misdiagnosed mental patient, Pagesix.com reported.

Tommy Parker, the CEO of 2 Guys and a Dream Films confirmed the report, saying: "As far as Britney's concerned, we're talking". The producer and director of the film also confirmed the project.

A source said: "A letter of intent from Britney was received very recently. Lindsay Lohan was originally offered the part because they thought she'd be a better actor, but they changed their mind and wanted Britney instead."

The source added, "I think it's pretty unbelievable considering what the script is about - prescription drug use, ADHD meds, and all that - considering what Britney's been through. Everyone's very excited to have her join the cast."

Britney Spears has been ordered by a judge to attend a new deposition meeting in the new year.

The troubled pop star skipped a previous child custody-related meeting at her ex-husband Kevin Federline's lawyer's Los Angeles office earlier this month blaming her no-show on an anxiety attack.

But according to new legal papers obtained by TMZ.com, Spears has now been told by L.A. Commissioner Scott Gordon to sit for her deposition in the first week of January or face the consequences.

For the wrong reasons or right, people are obsessed with Britney Spears. According to Reuters online, Britney fascinated people in 2007 so much that she headed the list of the top 10 searches on Yahoo.com.

Spears, who turned 26 on Sunday, continued to draw attention as she shaved her head, attacked a photographer's car with an umbrella, went to rehab, fought with ex-husband Kevin Federline over the custody of their two sons, and released her first album in four years.

Britney outsells Paris and Lindsay on eBay

eBay users wanted more of Britney Spears than Paris Hilton this year.

The number of Spears-related items sold at the online auction site totaled 34,345, compared with 27,377 items associated with Hilton, eBay said this week.

Items associated with Spears ranged from signed CDs to disposable lighters featuring her likeness. Among the Hilton-related items sold: a toothbrush claimed to have been found in the hotel heiress’ trash.

Fragrances were the most popular product category sold for Spears and Hilton.

Both fared better than Lindsay Lohan. Her name was only associated with 8,099 items sold, according to eBay.

However, the three tabloid staples were all outslugged by Barry Bonds, who was pegged to 145,497 related items, including a grilled-cheese sandwich, which netted a winning bid of $30. The seller claimed Bonds’ 756th home-run ball bounced off the sandwich in San Francisco’s AT&T Park.

Among the searches for movie franchise-themed merchandise, “Transformers” crushed “Harry Potter” with 442,342 related items sold compared with the boy wizard’s 344,825 related baubles. Not surprisingly, wares in the action-figure category made up 71 percent of sales associated with the robots in disguise.

Lindsay Lohan's Ex-Bodyguard Sues Star Magazine for Libel

One of Lindsay Lohan's former bodyguards says a celebrity magazine damaged his career as a protector of Hollywood's rich and famous by publishing a photo of him along with a tell-all article.

Andrae "Doc" Renard Newman filed a libel lawsuit against Star magazine Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging he was misidentified as Lee Weaver, another of the 21-year-old actress' former bodyguards, in a photo caption accompanying the article.

The story was titled, "Lindsay's Bodyguard Bares All! Her Sick Secret World," and appeared in Star's July 25, 2007, edition.

According to the lawsuit, the editors knew the caption was wrong but published it anyway.

"As soon as Star was notified that we identified the wrong bodyguard in the photo caption of the Lohan bodyguard tell-all, Star immediately withdrew the article from its Web site and corrected, retracted and apologized for the error," said Editor-in-Chief Candace Trunzo.

Newman says his reputation as a celebrity bodyguard was damaged because potential clients demand privacy and trustworthiness, and he could lose his job as a security guard at a Hollywood club.

"All the people in this industry sign confidentiality agreements and he's no exception," said Newman's attorney, Greg Stone. "Even if he didn't sign, he would never kiss and tell or disclose confidences. People trust this guy."

Stone said the mistake was compounded because Newman is known to many people only by his nickname, "Doc." When clients and colleagues saw Lee Weaver under his picture, Stone said, they likely assumed that was his real name.

Newman, who says he has worked as a professional bodyguard for the past 20 years, is suing for lost income and unspecified compensatory, exemplary and punitive damages.

Busboy says he has proof Lindsay Lohan was drinking before crash

Court papers allege the busboy who sued Lindsay Lohan has proof the actress had been drinking before she collided with his van in October 2005.

Raymundo Ortega contends that Lohan drove her Mercedes-Benz into a van he was driving after she drank alcohol and later tried to escape paparazzi. He is seeking $200,000 in damages.

The actress has countersued, saying the California Highway Patrol concluded that Ortega caused the crash by making an illegal U-turn in Beverly Hills.

Lohan's lawyers were scheduled to ask a judge in January to compel Ortega to prove the actress was drunk. Instead they filed to cancel the Los Angeles Superior Court hearing, saying Ortega provided responses to their discovery request.

Lohan was 19 at the time of the crash and recently spent more than a month at a drug and alcohol treatment program in Utah, her third visit to rehab this year.

She served 84 minutes in jail on Nov. 15 as part of a plea deal on misdemeanour drunken driving and cocaine possession charges stemming from two arrests that were unrelated to the crash that prompted the lawsuit.

Last week, the celebrity gossip site TMZ.com published what it said was a receipt showing what Lohan and four friends ordered at the Ivy restaurant the afternoon of the crash. The bill includes four Ivy Gimlets, a vodka drink.

Lindsay Lohan tried to sell photographs of her family Thanksgiving dinner, it has been claimed.

The 'Mean Girls' actress offered staged pictures of her with mother Dina, sister Ali, her brothers and boyfriend Riley Giles celebrating the holidays to several celebrity magazines.

She initially demanded a six-figure sum, but eventually dropped the price to $20,000 when she failed to find a buyer.

A source told MSNBC, "She thinks she's a huge star. She thinks everyone is dying to read about her, but she's lost her fan base. Her decisions are being driven by cash, not repairing her image."

Lindsay, 21, reportedly failed to sell the pictures, but made some money from her family shopping trip to New York's Armani Exchange and Intermix store on November 23.

It is claimed Lindsay tipped off the paparazzi she would be there and was paid to visit the clothing store.

The source added, "It seems like everything Lindsay does is to make money."

Last month, it was claimed the troubled star - who completed treatment in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction and served a prison sentence for driving under the influence - is broke after blowing her $7 million fortune on drugs and partying.

Meanwhile, Lindsay has reportedly dumped boyfriend Riley.

The couple - who met at Utah's Sundance rehab clinic in August - are said to have split shortly after they returned to Los Angeles on November 25, after their Thanksgiving break.

A source said, "She made it pretty clear when they got home that it was over. She got tired of him pouting all the time.

"It was fine when they were in Utah, just the two of them. But then they returned to Los Angeles and Lindsay was shooting a movie, photographers followed them everyone, she had meetings with this agent, that publicist, this director. His ego couldn't take it."

Lindsay friends are allegedly glad she has ditched him as they were unimpressed by the Utah snowboarder.

The source added to E! Online, "They thought he was unsophisticated and told her she should have left him in Utah with his snowboard.

"He never paid. We know Lindsay is the rich and famous one, but come on. Be the man once in a while! Pay for a round of Cokes. I mean, they weren't even drinking alcohol, so how much could a round of Cokes be?"

50 Cent is planning to work with Lindsay Lohan on her new album, according to reports.

The rap beefcake and showbiz socialite are said to have become good friends in recent months, prompting speculation of a collaboration.

Lohan, who has previously released two albums to little fanfare, has already approached Fiddy about the idea, according to her father Michael.

He explained: "They're talking about working together. Nothing's firm yet, but they're in talks. They've actually known each other for a while, just from being in the business together and crossing paths at events."

It appears their Thanksgiving weekend had little to be thankful for, at least when it comes to their relationship.

“They split after Thanksgiving weekend,” added the source.

Lindsay met Riley while in rehab at Cirque Lodge in Utah last August.However, the couple’s reported split could be a good sign for fans of Lindsay’s acting and singing careers.

“She is concentrating on her life and her career,” another source told People.

One person who might not be happy about the breakup is Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, who told People about Riley, “He’s a great, great kid. If you met him, you’d like him.”
